Capital Refractories Ltd recently exhibited at the 10th Annual International Exhibition on Foundry Technology, Equipment and Materials (IFEX) at Ahmedabad from the 7th to 9th February 2014. This was the first year of exhibiting as Capital Refractories Limited India, which began trading at the beginning of 2014. The exhibition proved to be a fantastic platform to meet existing customers, and of course new potential customers, to inform them of our current and new products that have provided increased melting and quality benefits in the modern melting casting shop.

CRL India National Sales Manager, Mr Naresh Kumar, has confirmed that interest for higher grade refractories by foundry and steel mill operators and owners has increased as many believe that investment in new equipment and technologies, combined with cost competitive melting practices will help increase efficiency, quality and profits. They see higher quality refractories as being an integral part of the process requirements that will help them achieve these goals.

In a statement Mr Kumar gave at the show; he stated the following: “ Capital Refractories Ltd have established a strong customer base supplying high grade Spinel forming neutral forming linings to the Induction furnace melter’s in India for over 7 years. We have realised that the requirement for high grade refectories for steel melting has increased and will continue due to the quality benefits provided and required in India as such we have taken the decision to open our own company in India to further strengthen our commitment and supply capabilities to this growing market”.

During the show a number of new orders were received from existing customers using spinel refractories in larger melting units 15-35t capacity along with a visit made by one of the largest new customers from Asia where trials will shortly commence in their existing 30t furnaces, this will be a test bed for future trials in the new 50t units now being commissioned for mild steel melting.
